Annapurna Base Camp Helicopter Tour From Pokhara

The Helicopter tour from Pokhara to the base camp is a cheaper option with a shorter route. The total journey is about one and a half hours. You can travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara via a 6-hour long bus journey or a 25-minute flight and sign up for this tour from Pokhara. It is a better option if you are traveling solo.

The one hour flight commences from Pokhara airport. It exits the verdant valley of Pokhara with the aerial view of the Phewa lake starting to fade away. The flight then follows along the Modi River valley towards the Annapurna Base camp.

The flight further passes through the settlements of Jhinudada, Chhomrong  & Doman. We then pass through the valley clogged between Annapurna South and Macchapucchre, to the Annapurna base camp (4130m). The journey is a fantastic one with excellent views of the rhododendron forests and the glazing Kali-Gandaki river.

After landing, you can spend some time exploring around the base camp and clicking some well-deserved photographs. We then conclude the journey by boarding the chopper back to Pokhara.

7:30 AM - Reporting time at Pokhara airport.

8.00 AM - After completing all the necessary check-in procedures, you board the helicopter. At around 8:00 am, you take off from Pokhara Airport heading towards the Annapurna Base Camp.

8.30 AM - The helicopter lands at Annapurna Base Camp with a grounding time off half an hour. You can explore around the area and click some lovely pictures.

9.00 AM - After some quick refreshments and well-deserved photographs, you board the chopper and head back to Pokhara.

9.30 AM - After a 30-minute scenic flight, the chopper finally lands in Pokhara concluding the helicopter tour

The best seasons are the spring and autumn season where you can get views worth the money!

You must avoid the rainy season if possible due to the frequent rain and snowfalls that can create delays or cancellation of the trips. Winter also isn’t the most favorable, with low temperatures and sub-zero climates.

The best months to opt for this helicopter tour are February, March, April, and May, September, October, November, and December. During these months the weather is reasonable, and the views are fantastic!
