Nepal resumed international flight operations with Kuala Lampur, Istanbul, Dammam and Kuwait from June 24. Due to long 10 days quarantine requirement rules, few foreigners visited Nepal.

But, the good news is that Nepal has removed 10-day long quarantine rules. If you are thinking to visit Nepal soon then you must read this updated travel guide on on-arrival visa, quarnatine rules, COVID test and insurance. Without much further a do, let's dive into the checklist that you need to be prepared before applying for on-arrival visa.

PCR Negative Report Taken 72 Hours Before Boarding

A negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) obtained within 72 hours prior to departure from the country of origin is required for entry. Children under 5 are exempt from this requirement. All passengers using Qatar Airways are required to take a PCR test from a pre-approved laboratory within 48 hours before departure. All other airlines require a negative PCR test results within 72 hours of departure. Please check with respective airlines on swab test time limit.

Hotel Booking Confirmation / Guarantee of Accommodation

Even if you don't need to stay for quarantine, you have to reserve the hotel room to apply for on-arrival visa. Those details will be needed when you apply the CCMC form online.

Online International Travel Arrival Form

You need to fill the CCMC online International travel form after flight ticket is confirmed and PCR report is collected. Upon submission of the form, a System Generated Bar Code is displayed, please take a screenshot or better print it in hard-copy version and keep it safely.

Vaccination Certificate

You need to bring the proof of vaccination documents or any hospital confirmation letter or copy of vaccination card in English which should clearly say that you have got full doze of approved vaccines which are Covidshield, Verocell, Pfizer, Moderna, J & J, Sputnik, Covaxin and Astrazeneca. Please note that, you should be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before you travel.

Travel Insurance

Proof of Travel Insurance which covers emergency search, rescue, treatment, among others, for the duration of their travel

Flight Tickets & Others

Lastly, other documents such as flight details and valid original passport with 4 photos are important documents you shouldn't forget. Face masks are currently complusory, you may not be able to enter some areas or use some services without one.

For not vaccinated or partially vaccinated tourists, have to bring pre-recommendation letter from travel agent in Nepal and mandatory quarantine yourself at the hotel for 10 days at your own expense. On the 11th day, if your PCT test is negative, then you are free to travel.
